A Week Away - " Christian" Movie From Netflix with Amazing Sountrack

If you know me, you know that most of the time I download music not buy it. But when I listened to this soundtrack I had to buy it! The soundtrack is amazing with Newer Versions of songs by Steven Curtis Chapman and Amy Grant both of which had a cameo in the movie. They also covered songs by Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins, For King & Country, and Audio Adrenaline with a few original songs. The movie is more Christian lite. It feels a little like a redemption movie for Netflix doing the whole gay Jesus movie. Jesus forgave them it will take a little more than this for me to, but I am trying. Although I still will watch some stuff on Netflix, some people did a whole boycott. The movie seems like a kinda Christian version of High School Musical with a little Camp Rock in there.  The thing that makes the movie good is the music. The best song is the medley of Awesome God and God Only Knows. The movie stars Kevin Quinn, who starred on Disney Channel's Bunk'd for the first two s

Justin Bieber's "Gospel Themed" EP Freedom

Okay, first things first. Come Oooonnnn Justin really You tryna be cussing and praying in the same little song forreals. Sorry I had to get that out lol. Other than the fact that Justin Bieber clearly skipped James 3: 9-10 in his Bible "Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! "(James 3:9-10 NLT) Of course I know no one is perfect and God forgives sin. This does not change that the fruit of a Christian is a changed life. I can't really fuss at what he does at home but the least he could do is not cuss on his "Gospel Themed" EP.  I am not even talking about his album Justice ( the CLEAN version is pretty good by the way) I am not even as upset about that.  So now that I got that out of the way. Honestly, I think it is a pretty good EP. It features someone who has been around a

Believe For It - CeCe Winans

Gospel legend, 12 Grammy, 15 Steller, and 23 Dove awards under her belt. Who could I be talking about? The most accomplished female gospel/contemporary gospel artist ever, CeCe Winans!!! This album actually is amazing. I usually listen to more CCM-style Christian music.  This album takes a twist to CeCe's sound with most of the album being covers of popular songs previously recorded by Bethel Music and their collective of artists, Todd Dulaney, David Brymer, Elevation Worship, Fred Hammond, David & Nicole Binion, and MDSN. There are also radio versions of the titular song and Never Lost. She also records again Alabaster Box and Jesus You're Beautiful. I was honestly not expecting to like this album considering I liked the original versions of all the songs (except for King of Glory CeCe tore that up) with a few I was newly introduced to. This album's purpose seems to bring amazing songs to people who only listen to Gospel music.  This definitely succeeded with that.

Citizen of Heaven (Live) - Tauren Wells

Image
Citizen of Heaven (Live) - Tauren Wells Tauren Wells recently released a live version of a collection of songs from his last two albums and a few elevation songs. If you like live albums and you like Tauren Wells more likely than not you will appreciate this album. I have listen to about half of the album, and personally I think he sounds the same live and in the studio. For most people they sound better either or. The song Ciitizen of Heaven gives major Michael Jackson vibes (do Christian's say vibes lol). The live version of Famous For (I Believe) ends with a tie in of popular elevation worship song - Do It Again. The song also features both Jenn Johnson from poular music collective Bethel Music and Christine D'Clario mostly popular amoung the Spanish- Speaking community both of which have sang previous versions of the song. Until Grace features Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts like its studio counterpart. Tauren Wells also sings songs poular on his debut solo

My Savior- Carrie Underwood and Live TV Performance with Gospel Legend CeCe Winans

My Savior- Carrie Underwood and  Live TV Performance with Gospel Legend CeCe Winans Most people who know me that I listen to strictly only Christian Music with barely any exceptions. Like excluding movie soundtracks maybe ten artists... Carrie Underwood is one of those artists.                 Of course, because I love more contemporary worship music, people who sing pop/country music appeal more to me than to other genres. When I heard Carrie Underwood was releasing a gospel album I literally jumped with joy.  She already slightly gave us a taste with her Christmas Album and her version of Hallelujah with John Legend . I listened to this and was honestly a little jealous God did not gift me with a voice like John's #honestyisthebestpolicy.  To kick off her album she released 3 singles Softly and Tenderly, Nothing But the Blood of Jesus, and Great is thy Faithfulness with CeCe Winans.       As a sort of album release tease at the CMA, Carrie and CeCe blew up live television
