Rivers: Sunday Mornings Live - Deeper Worship

YES!!! Deeper Worship y'all did it!  Rivers is the debut worship album from the worship team at Pastor William McDowell's church. I have been to the most recent Habitation Conference (Habitation 2019) and am currently attending his Deeper Worship Intensive.  In short, William McDowell is a major influence on my worship life. After the Binions, he is probably the person who has influenced me the most. After that would be Kim Walker-Smith, Steffany Gretzinger, and Israel Houghton.  The people featured on this album are no strangers to William McDowell fans or people familiar with his church. Trinity Anderson is most likely his successor, his Elisha for a lack of better words. She and another worship leader at his church, Chris Lawson, have been featured on his most recent album titled The Cry: A Live Worship Experience.  It also features Matt Gilman, who recently joined  William McDowell's church. Matt Gilman although new to William McDowell's church is not ...

Homecoming (Live) - Bethel Music

Homecoming, when I first heard about this album I was thinking " That's an odd name for a worship album."  After listening to at least the first and last song ( and maybe a couple in the middle) the name makes total sense. I was super excited about this album, much more than the last album from Bethel Music titled "Revival's In The Air". Actually, most of the songs from that album are great songs they just took a while for me to realize it.  The first songs I will talk about are the song that you may have heard before. These would be, of course, Son of Suffering, Too Good To Not Believe, Hymn Of Heaven, My King Forever, and All Hail King Jesus.   My King Forever I like the song but I was expecting a spontaneous moment or something; since the song has been recorded by Josh Baldwin multiple times before now.   All Hail King Jesus was ehh. To be honest, I have not really been a fan of Bethany Wohrle (who lead the song on this album). I love the song sinc...

Worship Forever - Michael W. Smith

The only good thing to come out of 9/11/2001 was Michael W. Smith's album titled Worship. That same album won many awards and actually spun off another album titled Worship Again, which won a grammy award.  This album, intended to be a 20th-anniversary album for the original "Worship" album is titled ... Worship Forever. Most of the tracks for the first worship album are featured on this album. This album, unlike the original but like the 2nd in the series, has a few featured artists.  These artists include Amy Grant who sings probably his most popular song with him, Agnus Dei, Matt Redman sings a song he actually wrote, The Heart Of Worship, and Tauren Wells who sings More Love, More Power.  The setlist, almost identical to the original, includes an almost short spontaneous intercession, a mash-up of his popular versions of surrounded and waymaker, a reprise of Forever, and a studio version of his new song Sing Again.  The songs on this album are classics and ...

Tribl 1 - Tribl and Maverick City Music

Personally, this one is not my favorite. I like the highlight songs Still Holy, Lovesick, and High Praise. And I also like the Spontaneous Song Prepare the Way.  This album is okay, I don't hate it don't love it.  It is really simple but not like hymns simple that we still worship with.  I still was able to worship with them when I first listened to it, but the second time listened I went into critic mode.   Like I said it is not bad just not my cup of tea. Lovesick is a song I have heard multiple times before this album. Housefires sang it, Elyssa Smith sang it with the great Steffany Gretzinger, now tribl sings it.  I like the live Housefires version best but I wish Chandler and Steffany were there.  Still Holy, and High Praise sound like songs Brandon Lake was involved with writing. If you know Brandon Lake songs you know he gives off a vibe.  I have a spot in my heart for spontaneous songs because they come from Holy Spirit. You can tell...

Peace:The Album - Anna Golden

This album... I don't hate it. I don't love it. Honestly, she brings the kinda "I know I'm bomb" vibes like Tasha Cobbs Leonard started to have after her One Place Live album. This makes sense since she (Anna Golden) is her mentee. The album has a gospely feel mixed with a little pop. I like that she does not sound different when she sings live as to her studio songs. I don't feel like her studio songs are explicitly Christian(such as use scripture, say Jesus, or God /Lord.) I feel like this is really for newer followers of Jesus and people who are more new-agey. I has a little hip-hop feel to it also.  She is probably most well know for her cover of The Blessing with Selena Gomez. I do like the album though but I just don't have much to say about it. Happy Listening!!!

Best Days - Martha Munizzi

YES!!!! Another album from one of my favorite gospelly singers. Since most people know I do not listen to much gospel music, I can cut right to the chase and tell you which songs I personally love!  This album sounds like a typical album you would hear from Martha Munizzi. The only thing is I was expecting more praise songs or at least upbeat songs. I love that her daughters are featured on here! I love it when a family worships together! My Favorite song from the album is I'm Gonna Win (Glorious 2.0). If you couldn't tell it is a remixed version of Glorious. It features a new song but ties into the original closer to the end with the chorus " I was created to make your praise Glorious."The next best song is Fight For Me. I can't give you any specifics. I just like the upbeat nature of the song and the mix with the right words. There is a radio edit for this song, that I heard on Sirius XM. The declaration song and exhortation were really good. I like the intro a...
